Deus Ex: Human Revolution Cheats & Codes:

Easier Passcode Input

When inputting keycodes or passwords, you may use a USB keyboard for the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 to serve as your "keyboard". You may also use a system-approved mini-keyboard (or chat keyboard) for this purpose.

Infinite XP Hacking Exploit

Best find a terminal that has a lot of XP awards (Adam Jensen’s laptop in Sarif Industries is a good candidate, as revealed by the dude in the video).

Basically:

Save the game before attempting to hack a terminal or device.

You will be reloading the save file made in step 1 after each successful hacking attempt.

Successfully hack the device (preferably the security node, so you unlock all the data stores).

Use as many Nuke Viruses and Stop Worms as you need, since you will be reloading the device (preferably the security node, so you unlock all the data stores).

Use as many Nuke Viruses and Stop Worms as you need, since you will be reloading the game.

Once the device hacking is successful, you will be presented with the hacking results screen, and the prompt to continue.

Do not press the button to continue.

Load the save game made in step 1 instead.

Repeat steps 3 to 7. You will notice the totals on the hacking results screen increase & accrue from your previous attempts.

When you are ready to barf twice, accept the hacking results and the “Updates” notifications will show the results of all your prior attempts.

Note: The data packets earned from hacking and reloading are are still issued if you complete a on different terminal. So, if you milk Jensen's terminal, you can walk accross the hall and still get it all.

Easy Storage

If you want to store an item instead of lugging it around, just throw it on the ground.  The game always saves the location of items -- even if you leave the region.

Easy Funicular Wait

In Picus Communications, when you have to wait for the Funicular to come up, there will be enemies that will arrive to fight you. Before you hit the elevator button, block both entrances into the room with heavy objects. This is only possible if you have the Move/Lift Heavy Objects augment. There are two vending machines outside the room, two crates (one short, one big) next to the security computer, and the turret in the center that can be used to block the lower doorway and the side corridor. If you block the doorways correctly, the guards will stay in another room outside the whole time you're waiting for the Funicular. It would be wise to save before you hit the elevator button in case the barricades don't work.

Easy XP

There are two ways to gain a lot of extra XP with minimal effort: Hacking and Non-Lethal Actions:

Hacking: when every you get the chance, and if you have the appropriate level of hacking skill, hack everything you can. These simple tasks will earn you easy XP, and can even unlock extra goodies along the way (an access code, extra credits)

Non-Lethal Actions: Non-lethal takedowns/kills earn you more XP than  you would with lethal ones. Also, if you have the Reflex Booster augmentation  (which allows you to take down two enemies at once) you can earn an  easy 125 XP from a NL takedown than from a lethal.

Lots of XP in China

In Hengsha, every store has a back door. Open it and walk inside for a Traveler bonus of 100 XP.

Infinite Ammo: The Turret Method

Upgrade Hacking and Strength and you can pick up turrets, which have infinite ammo. Set them down or, let them fire while you move, to clear out a room easily! you still get XP points, and even headshots. you can also do this with robots.

12 Easter Eggs:

Deus Ex Reference: Smash the State

There's a sidequest where you run into Officer Nicholas (after obtaining Sandoval's location mid-to-lateway in the game) and are told to eliminate Jacob White (a member of Motor City Bangers).  According to your mission log, the sidequest is named Smash the State.  This is a reference to the original Deus Ex in which "smashthestate" was used as one of the first obtainable security logins used for gaining access to a central building on Liberty Island.  The pocket secretary that you pick up from White also references smashthestate in the address heading.

Mitnick Reference

In the Tai Yong Medical labs, on the third floor you can hack into Server Room A-3 just at the top of the stairs.

Once you're in the room and you check the computer there's an email sent to Kevin Mitnick.

Kevin Mitnick, AKA Condor, was once the most-wanted computer criminal in the US.

Megadeth Reference

In a secret room in Singapore hangar below control switch you'll find level 5 computer and cooling upgrade. There is an email on a computer named 'Hangar 18,' written by Dave One. This contains sections of the lyrics to the Megadeth song Hanger One. The computer user MSTAINE is a reference to Megadeth member Dave Mustaine.

Note that finding this computer grants the Hangar 18 Trophy / Achievement.

House Reference

In the sidequest you get from Malik in Shanghai(Shanghai Justice),you have to meet with a guy called Anonymous X. He will give you an autopsy report. If you look closely there is a sentence Dr. House said once, "All that is necessary for  triumph of evil   is that good men do nothing." Also if you look who wrote the report you'll see that the name of the doctor is 'Dr. Gregory H. M.D.'

Demolition Man Reference

When infiltrating the penthouse apartment in Hengsha for the mission "Hunting the Hacker," you can hit up the bathroom and find 3 seashells instead of toilet paper. This is a reference to the 1993 movie Demolition Man.

Look Around During Dialog

During 3rd person, non-cutscene dialog between Adam and another character, you can look around by holding down the AIM button and looking around with normal controls.

Fight Club Reference

At the Hive's men's restroom, there is a pocket secretary that gives the door code for the back room that also states that someone broke the first rule by talking about what goes on in the basement. Its simply signed T. This is a reference to Fight Club.

Office Space Reference

There is a computer in the Singapore secret facility that has an email that mentions someone needing to return a stapler. This is a reference to the movie Office Space.

therealsuperman67 adds:

The email about the guy looking for his stapler is actually a nod to The Office, not Office Space.  First, the guy's name is "Dwayne," then he talks about he's going to set up a hidden camera to catch the person.  Finally, at the bottom, it says "I know you have it Jim."

Star Wars Reference

In the FEMA Detention Center, there is an email in one of the computers titled "Clean up of parking area." After the body of text, there is a postscript: "P.S. Episode 9 tonight? If so, let's go early. I hate standing in lines." This is likely a reference to the rumored continuation of the Star Wars series with a new trilogy of episodes numbered 7-9 set to take place after the original trilogy, as well as a nod to the fact that Star Wars movies are notorious for having long lines on opening weekend.

QR Codes

The QR codes on boxes and other things in the game are real. Scan them off your screen with a cellphone to read the hidden messages.

Final Fantasy 27 Reference

When you enter Pritchard’s office, look on his wall above his motorcycle to spot the Final Fantasy game of the future.

Robocop Reference

In the Detroit police station you can find one officer that may seem particularly familiar... Robocop's human precursor was named 'Alex Murphy,' and the guy at the desk talking about 80s movies has the same name.

Hints:

Unlimted Hack Attempts

To keep attempting hacks, and not run out of hack attempts, when the system is alerted before you run out of time, press B to cancel the hacking. Then press Y and the failed attempt will not count against your limited number of chances. You have to be quick with B, or you'll miss it.

Namir Fight Easy Win

Easy way to beat Namir: Assuming you have a fully upgraded typhoon and a revolver with the explosive rounds upgrade. Equip the revolver before the fight then once it starts start firing at him with the revolver while advancing on him. The constant barrage will keep him from shifting or moving, as soon as you've emptied the revolver, immediately hit him with a typhoon. One or 2 successive blasts will end him.

Get Easy Kills

Upgrade Hacking and Strength to be able to pick up turrets (they have unlimited ammo). Set them down or let them fire while you move to easily clear out a room. You will still get experience points and head-shots. You can also do this with robots.

Unlockables & Awards:

Unlock The Qr Website

Successfully complete the prologue and start the first mission. Enter the warehouse and search for cardboard boxes marked with "Sarif Industries" to find a QR Code. Scan it with a QR readable phone app to view a fictional website from the storyline!

Good Soul Achievement / Trophy Guide

As Adam Jensen returns to Hengsha Island, you and Malik will crash land in a construction site. Immediately save your game. Malik will try to repair the helicopter, while soldiers open fire on her and you. It won’t take long for the enemies to kill her, meaning she’s just a sitting duck, and you won’t be able to run across the yard in time to save her without clearing away some of the enemies first – especially the heavies armed with Heavy Rifles. Sounds tough, right? To succeed and save Malik, prepare properly before leaving Detroit or heading to Sarif Industries. You’ll need frag grenades or gas grenades to quickly down enemies, and at least one EMP grenade to take care of robots. Load up ammo for your most upgraded weapons, and plan to go lethal. Tranquilizers and the stungun are just too slow, but they’re handy for knocking out the heavies in one hit. A Rocket Launcher or Sniper Rifle will save you some headaches, as you can take out the powerful heavies from long range, just be careful not to blow up Malik! When you’re all geared up, take off for Hengsha. Save after the cutscene, then start taking out bad guys. Shoot the explosive barrels littering the area, try starting with the left building at the back of the area to down a sniper quickly. Jump off and enter the building to your right, go up a level, and jump to the top floor. Take out any enemies on this floor, and start picking off the heavies below on the ground. Use frag or gas grenades to quickly put them down. Tranquilizer darts will also instantly knock them out, but that’s a slow method. Further through the third floor, you’ll spot more enemies, so take care of them. Get down to ground level to face a robot guard as it lands in the courtyard, so use EMP or an upgraded typhoon blast to destroy it. After that, you only have stragglers to clean up. Do all that, and you’ve got a pretty good chance at saving Malik. Good luck, good samaritans In the newest Deus Ex, there’s no getting around hacking. Hacking is everywhere, on every locked door and security console. If you want to be sneaky, hacking is the only way to go. You’ll be hacking a significant portion of the game, and the better you are at it, the more rewards you’ll get. A good hacker can get bonus XP, bonus credits, and bonus programs to help make hacking easier. Look below to get a quick and dirty guide to hack your way through Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Hacking Guide:

The Basics

Get to know hacking. Adam Jensen will be forced to hack at several points through-out the game, and find himself blocked out of paths and rewards without the proper security level. Each computer or panel you interact with, if it’s locked, will have a set security level. You begin the game with the Hacking: Capture augmentation already unlocked and set at security level 1.

The minigame shows a series of nodes connected by pathways that are either two-way or one-way. Solid lines are two-way, while dotted lines are one-way. The nodes are connected to your starting point, an IO node, represented by a blue sphere icon. The computer icons are empty nodes that just get you to the critical nodes, which look similar to your IO node.

The goal is to either capture the critical nodes, or the red tower icon called a security node. As you capture nodes, you’ll see each has a set security level, which gives you an idea of the length of time it will take to capture the node. A level 1 node will be captured much faster than a level 6 node. Each node also shows a percentage — that’s your chances on whether you’ll be detected. If the hack is detected, the red tower icon security node will attempt to trace the hack.

To capture a security node, you have to remain completely undetected. That’s difficult, but no impossible. Helping you are some special items. The Nuke Program will instantly capture a node, while the Slow Worm will stop a trace attempt from the security node for several precious seconds. These hacking items are a life saver until you can properly put points into the other augmentations.

Among the blank nodes, you might also find some helpful nodes. Cube icons called datastores provide special bonus rewards for capturing them. The gear icons are more useful, they provide helpful properties that make your hack easier; the clearance node lowers the security level of the datastores by 1, soften nodes will lower the security level of all the surrounding nodes by 1, the transfer node adds 2 security levels to a node while removing 2 security levels from another node, and the most useful is the spam node. The spam node slows down a trace attempt, so grab these nodes whenever you see them.

One last point before we go in-depth. While hacking, Adam Jensen is completely immobile and exposed. If an enemy sees you while you’re hacking, he’ll shoot you and knock you out of the minigame. If a camera spots you, the alarm will go off. That’s not the worst part, a failed hack attempt will set off an alarm and lock you out from using the commputer or panel for a couple dozen seconds. Hacking is a great way, not just to explore and find easy ammo and items, but also as a way to gain bonus credits and XP.

Capture: The Hacking: Capture augmentation is your basic first choice when deciding where your Praxis points will go. It’s easy to pump up your hacking skills to break security level 3 computers and consoles even early in the game. If you want to go the hacking route, you’ll want to dump four Praxis points into this augmentation and reach security level 5.

Within this augmentation, you can also unlock the ability to use and shut-down cameras, turrets, and robots. These skills aren’t mandatory for hackers, they can be handy, but if you carry some spare EMP grenades and move carefully, you’ll rarely have to worry about these threats. Jensen won’t get many chances to turn turrets or robots against his enemies, only get these upgrades if you plan on sneaking behind enemy lines anyway — and if you’re doing that, just sneak by the cameras, turrets, and robots.

Fortify: The fortify ability allows Jensen to increase the security level of a captured node by 1, effectively slowing down the security node’s trace. Fortifying a node also comes with a chance of being detected, so don’t just fortify every node right away. Unlocking the Hacking: Fortify ability isn’t really required to be a good hacker, it can be useful, but the length of time it takes to fortify nodes is better spend just capturing nodes. Each upgrade to this augmentation increases the security level pump, starting at 1, moving to 2 and 3. Fortify is handy, but not as useful as the next augmentation.

Stealth: The stealth augmentation is required for high security hacks. By level 5 security, you’ll face nodes with 100% detection. Unlocking the Hacking: Stealth augmentation is a must for level 5 hacking, and will help you complete lower level hacks by making you undetectable. Each upgrade to Hacking: Stealth lowers your chance of detection by 15%, upgrade it fully and your chances of detection are halved.

Stealth is important, it makes hacking easier, and makes getting special stackable rewards possible. Hacking: Stealth, any hacker worth his or her salt must have this. Skip Fortify, stick with Stealth.

Bonuses: These bonuses stack, providing a little extra XP and other rewards. Keep up the hacking, and these little bonuses will really start to add up.

Grey Hat Bonus: (50 XP) Successfully hack a system.

Black Hat Bonus: (75 XP) Hack a level 3 or above security system to get this bonus.

L33t Sk1llz Bonus: (100 XP) Set-off the security, and still complete the hack on a level 4 or higher system.

Master Hacker Bonus: (100 XP) Hack a security level 5 system without being detected.

Script Kiddie Bonus: (50 XP) Use a Nuke Virus or a Stop Worm, you’ll get this reward for each

These bonuses combined with the datastore nodes can really add up to something substantial. Understand why it’s better to just hack, now?

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Hidden Praxis Kits:

Sarif Manufacturing Lab: As you exit the Assembly Line, you’ll reach the Factoring Labs with an elevator. Exiting the elevator, ahead you’ll find your first Praxis Kit in the hallway.

Detroit City Sewers: In the Derelict Row sewers, in the eastern corner, in a dead-end south of a sewer entrance, you’ll find a light wall. Break down the light wall with augmented strength, or just some old-fashioned firepower.

Detroit City Apartments: Enter the apartment building behind a locked gate down the alley behind the gun-runner’s abandoned gas station. Inside the apartment building, move to the second floor and break into the apartment with a level 5 lock, use the code “2356″ to get in. Hack into the bedroom, you can use the code “8221″, and use the keypad into the cage, you can hack that or use the code “3663″ taken from the computer terminal nearby. Inside the cage, look to the shelves to your left. That’s where you’ll find the hidden Praxis Kit.

Detroit LIMB Clinic: Two Praxis Kits can be bought here for 5,000 credits each. On the second visit to Detroit, the Praxis Kits will be restocked. A Doctor inside will also reward you with a Praxis Kit for completing his sidequest in the second visit to Detroit.

Hengsha LIMB Clinic: Like in Detroit, you can purchase two Praxis Kits here for 5,000 credits each. During the second visit, the Clinic will restock. Also, just like in the Detroit LIMB Clinic, talk to a doctor inside and complete his sidequest for a Praxis Kit reward.

Hengsha City Streets: On your first visit, as Jensen moves to speak with the hacker in Alice Garden Pods, your pilot Malik will find you. Complete her side-quest for a Praxis Kit.

Hengsha Sewers: Underneath the city, look for a ‘U’ section of sewers below the Huang Hua Hotel. You’ll need to be able to break through a light wall in the sewer to find the Praxit Kit with some pain killer.

The Hive: Complete the Bartender, Bobby Bao’s, sidequest to get your hands on a Praxis Kit. For the more violent option, kill or stun him and search his body to get the kit.

Hengsha: Complete Malik’s sidequest and you’ll be rewarded with a Praxis Kit.

Hengsha Court Gardens: Sneak into the elevator shaft, instead of climbing up, climb down to the bottom of the shaft and look underneath the elevator to find another Praxis Kit on the floor.

Tai Yong Medical: On the second floor of the actual Tai Yong building, after entering the Lee Geng lab, move up to the second floor. Before continuing to the third floor, turn left and take a hallway, through a door, into another corridor where there are two offices. Enter the first office, or enter the second office and return to the first through the connecting door, to find a Praxis Kit in the south-western corner.

Picus: As you enter the news building, reaching the main office floor, you’ll see the place is empty. Run down to the cubicles, down the center row and check the center-left desks for an easy Praxis Kit.

Detroit City Apartment: Enter the apartment building across from the Chiron Building and move up to the third floor to find a Praxis Kit near a dead body – watch out, there’s an EMP mine hidden under the body, set it off first. You’ll find this one naturally while completing a main quest during your second visit to the Detroit Hub.

Panchea: Deep inside the chaos of Panchea, you can find a LIMB Clinic behind a barricade of vending machines. Move them or destroy them to get inside the Clinic, where you can purchase two Praxis Kits for the standard price of 5,000 credits each

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Infinite Experience Glitch:

Infinite Experience Glitch

This glitch will work anywhere, but the first (And easiest) place to start would be Adam Jensen’s personal computer, located in his office at Sarif HQ, after returning from the Sarif Manufacturing Plant hostage situation.

Use the discovered Praxis Kit and an earned Praxis point to upgrade to Hacking security level 3. Try to collect as many Nuke Programs as possible to help speed up the process, the Nuke Programs can be collected in the Sarif Manufacturing Plant, or while searching and hacking into the computers around Sarif HQ.

Before starting a hack, save your game. Hack every optional node, or the Network node to instantly complete the hack.

Do not exit out of the hack or press a button to complete it, you’ll want to make sure you’re getting an +XP bonus. While using Adam Jensen’s computer, hacking the special reward nodes will net you a +500 XP bonus.

The best method: While using Adam Jensen’s computer, only hack the four nodes straight to the security node (The red tower icon), ignoring the rest. Capture the security node, using five Nuke Viruses, you should be able to capture it, then load your game before completing the hack.

When you’ve acquired the optional nodes, or captured the network node — pause the game and load the save made before you hacked. Again, do not complete the hack, when the game brings up the “Access Granted” window, do not select “OK”.

Press start, you’ll notice you can’t save, load the save you made before starting the hack. Now that you’re back in time, try the hack again.

Follow the same steps, capture every optional node or the network node, and you’ll see that the game has kept your previous +500 XP bonus.

For your second try, you’ll have +1000 XP, for the third try, you’ll have +1500 XP, etc. Do the trick five times for a sweet +2500 XP, just remember to keep loading and never select “OK” to complete the hack.

Do this trick as many times as you want for a large XP bonus early in the game.

Don’t forget that you can always return to Adam Jensen’s computer later, or try this trick on other hacking challenges around the game.

While hacking systems with Nuke Virus or Slow Worm rewards, you can also infinitely gather these rewards.

You may have to hack the same way each time to stack your rewards – make each subsequent hack a copy of your first hack, just to be safe. (Tip provided by: Captain Obvious)
